Position Overview:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of training module development projects. This role reports to the Vice President of Operations. Working closely with the Senior Manager of Training Development and the Senior Director of Content Production, this role ensures that all projects run smoothly, meet deadlines, and adhere to budgetary constraints while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
This role includes managing project timelines, coordinating internal and external resources, scheduling and facilitating content capture events, and communicating effectively with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, the Project Manager will proactively identify and mitigate risks, build intuitive project management tools, and leverage agile methodologies to optimize workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, developing comprehensive plans to manage resources, timelines, and milestones.
- Track project expenses, identify cost variances, and adjust as needed to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Build and maintain effective workflows using project management software to streamline task tracking, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress, identifying potential risks or bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including content development and production team members, as well as external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), to ensure alignment and productivity.
- Manage logistics for on-site content capture and training events, including booking travel, reserving facilities, and coordinating with SMEs and external talent.
- Maintain consistent and transparent communication and engagement with clients, senior management, and stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and decisions.
- Facilitate team collaboration by applying agile principles such as sprint planning, backlog management, and retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement.
- Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and align with client specifications and organizational goals.
- Prepare and present detailed project status reports, dashboards, and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project management
- Strong proficiency with project management tools, such as Smartsheet, Monday.com, Asana, Jira, or Trello
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining effective workflows and automations
- Proven ability to manage budgets, assess and mitigate risks, and maintain control over complex project variables.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and principles, with experience managing projects in an agile environment.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a focus on detail-oriented project execution.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and team collaboration.
- Self-motivated with a proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Familiarity and professional experience with the defense, aviation, training, product development, and/or content development industries
