Consumer Fire Products deploys Type 6 engine crews across the western U.S. for wildfire response, including patrol, structure protection, and suppression support.
Pay & Earnings

Who We’re Hiring
Experienced Firefighters
- Red Card (FFT2+)
- Engine experience strongly preferred
Entry-Level Candidates
- Training provided
- Path into engine crew roles
Great opportunity for current Engine Bosses, wildland firefighters, and other qualified personnel. Mitigation is also performed during a wildfire.
Applicants who have completed wildland fire training, including a minimum of the following courses, will be considered immediately for Engine Crew positions:
- I-100 – Introduction to Incident Command System (ICS)
- IS-700 National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction
- L-180 – Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service
- S-130 – Firefighter Training
- S-190 – Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior
Responsibilities
- Operate and work off Type 6 wildland fire engines
- Patrol and protect structures during wildfire incidents
- Support suppression and mitigation operations
- Work extended assignments in dynamic fire environments
- Maintain equipment and ensure crew safety
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to meet arduous pack test standards
- Willingness to travel and work extended assignments
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in demanding outdoor conditions
Preferred Experience
- Red Card Certification (FFT2 or higher)
- Experience in fire, construction, utilities, or equipment operation
- Experience driving trucks, trailers, or work vehicles
Hiring Requirements
Final employment is contingent on:
- Background check and fingerprinting
- Drug screening and physical exam
- Completion of required fire certifications (if not already held)
