Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Labor Hand – Underground Utilities and be a vital part of constructing and maintaining essential infrastructure. In this role, you will assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground utility systems, including electrical, fiber optic, and cabling networks. Your hands-on skills and safety awareness will help ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Duties
- Assist with excavation, trenching, and backfilling for underground utility installations using hand tools and power tools
- Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, bucket trucks, and bucket operation machinery to support construction activities
- Perform utility locating to accurately identify existing underground lines before excavation begins
- Conduct fiber splicing and electrical cabling work with precision to ensure reliable connectivity
- Support rigging and mechanical tasks necessary for installing or removing heavy equipment or materials
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, weld, assemble, or repair utility components
- Climb structures such as poles or ladders safely when needed for maintenance or installation tasks
- Assist with electrical experience tasks including low voltage and high voltage system handling under supervision
- Maintain a clean and organized work site while adhering to safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Prior construction site experience with underground utilities preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, dozers, bucket trucks, and other machinery listed above
- Knowledge of utility locating techniques and safety procedures for working around underground lines
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment operation and maintenance
- Experience with welding, rigging, cabling, fiber splicing, electrical systems (low voltage/high voltage), and use of hand tools and power tools
- Physical ability to climb structures, lift heavy objects, and perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to safety standards and protocols at all times during operations
- Valid certifications or willingness to obtain certifications in equipment operation or safety training as required

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
