Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Construction Project Manager to join our growing construction team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with project teams, oversee estimating processes, and contribute to successful project execution. You will be instrumental in preparing accurate cost estimates, managing project documentation, and supporting the overall project management lifecycle. This position is ideal for motivated professionals eager to develop their skills in construction management and estimating within a fast-paced environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing detailed construction estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project scope using tools like HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and clients to negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms that align with project budgets and objectives.
- Support project managers in planning, scheduling, and coordinating construction activities on-site and off-site.
- Monitor project costs through diligent cost control practices, ensuring projects stay within budget while maintaining quality standards.
- Review and interpret construction contracts to ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of project documentation including bids, change orders, and progress reports.
- Assist in evaluating bid proposals, preparing pricing strategies, and submitting competitive bids for upcoming projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating or project management within the construction industry.
- Strong proficiency with Bluebeam for digital markup and document management; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, site operations, and safety protocols gained through hands-on construction site experience.
- Knowledge of cost control techniques, pricing strategies, and contract administration in a construction setting.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate across teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
