Our client is a rapidly growing, multi-location industrial B2B organization seeking an enterprise IT leader to oversee information technology strategy, security, digital systems, infrastructure, and data analytics. This executive will ensure our technology landscape facilitates scalable expansion, provides an exceptional user experience for both staff and clients, and maintains top-tier operational reliability and security.
Serving as a vital business partner to the executive team and cross-functional leaders (including sales, finance, operations, engineering, and logistics), this role is tasked with aligning technology investments with overarching business goals. The ideal candidate will modernize legacy systems, fortify cybersecurity governance, and lead a high-performing IT division that effectively supports both corporate offices and distributed field/service operations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Technology Leadership
- Design and execute a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with corporate growth and scalability goals.
- Collaborate with business units to leverage technology for improved productivity, customer satisfaction, and data-driven decision-making.
- Establish formal IT governance, project prioritization frameworks, architectural standards, and vendor risk management.
- Translate complex commercial and operational needs into scalable technical solutions across a decentralized physical footprint.
Infrastructure, Cloud, and Help Desk Operations
- Direct enterprise infrastructure, cloud environments, network engineering, endpoint management, and service desk operations.
- Guarantee highly resilient and secure IT support for regional hubs, technical centers, and a remote/mobile workforce.
- Mature IT Service Management (ITSM) practices, including SLAs, incident management, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
Enterprise Applications and Digital Transformation
- Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of core enterprise platforms, including ERP, CRM, inventory management, supply chain, and e-commerce tools.
- Partner with finance, sales, and operations to streamline workflows, enhance system integrations, and ensure data integrity.
- Modernize technical sales capabilities, distribution logistics, and field service delivery through modern digital applications.
Cybersecurity and Risk Management
- Govern the enterprise security strategy, compliance framework, identity/access management, and incident response readiness.
- Mitigate third-party risks and implement robust vulnerability management, backup, and recovery protocols.
Data Analytics and Financial Management
- Develop a practical business intelligence and analytics framework to improve visibility into operational trends and customer performance.
- Formulate and manage the annual IT operating and capital expenditure (OpEx/CapEx) budgets, ensuring strict cost discipline without compromising scalability.
- Negotiate and manage high-value contracts with software vendors, hardware suppliers, and Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
Team Development and Culture
- Attract, mentor, and retain an agile internal IT team and a dependable external partner network.
- Foster a culture grounded in accountability, rapid response, collaboration, and continuous technical evolution.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Leadership: 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, overseeing infrastructure, enterprise business applications, and information security.
- Executive Presence: 5+ years in a senior, executive-facing IT role with direct accountability for strategic planning, budgeting, and cross-functional partnerships.
- Industry Context: Deep distribution experience within a complex, multi-site operating environment (e.g., large-scale wholesale distribution, supply chain logistics, multi-channel fulfillment, or industrial distribution operations).
- Technical Breadth: Strong background in enterprise resource planning (ERP) ecosystems, CRM platforms, system integrations, cloud infrastructure, and modern IT service delivery models. Strong preference for Prophet 21 experience and other ERP systems.
- Change Management: Documented success leading large-scale software implementations, business process automation, and organizational transformations.
Preferred Experience:
- Advanced degree (Master’s or MBA).
- Deep background in distribution operations, including experience with warehouse/distribution management systems (WMS), complex inventory management, and e-commerce platform integration.
- Experience managing a diversified application portfolio or consolidating multiple ERP systems.
- Background working within a private equity-backed business environment, with direct experience handling the rapid technology integration of concurrent corporate acquisitions.
