Robert half's agency client in the communications consulting space is seeking a Creative Project Manager, Engagement Services to join their growing team. This organization is a leading strategic communications firm focused on education and partnering with philanthropies, nonprofits, associations, higher education institutions, school systems, and mission-driven organizations to deliver impactful campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and positive change.
This is a full-time, remote role based in the United States with occasional travel to Washington, D.C.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Project Manager to oversee multiple client projects from initiation through execution. This role blends hands-on project management with strategic support, budget oversight, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, managing client expectations and ensuring deliverables meet or exceed goals
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans aligned with budgets and scope of work
- Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and efficient project delivery
- Lead internal and client-facing meetings to maintain alignment and project momentum
- Oversee quality assurance across all deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract requirements
- Build and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial accountability
- Monitor budget performance and proactively identify risks, overruns, or inefficiencies
- Provide regular financial and project status updates to internal stakeholders and clients
Project Support & Content Development
- Support development of strategic communications and campaign initiatives, including PR and digital content strategies
- Conduct research to inform project direction and client recommendations
- Collaborate with creative, digital, content, and design teams to produce integrated deliverables
- Assist in developing a range of communications materials, including:
- Press releases, media advisories, and statements
- Opinion pieces and thought leadership content
- Social media strategies, editorial calendars, and posts
- Email marketing, blog content, website copy, and basic digital assets
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted project partner
- Communicate clearly and consistently with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Develop relationships with vendors, consultants, media partners, and other external resources
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in project management, ideally within communications, public relations, or content marketing
- Agency experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior-level stakeholders
- Experience managing multiple projects and budgets simultaneously
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Asana or similar platforms)
- Strong attention to detail and a solutions-oriented mindset
- Familiarity or interest in PK–workforce education issues is a plus
