ChemFoam International, Inc. is an Atlanta-based specialty chemical intermediary representing a portfolio of international manufacturers in the polyurethane raw materials industry. We serve foam manufacturers, coatings formulators, and specialty applications customers across North America, coordinating complex domestic and international supply chains on behalf of our supplier partners.
Position Summary
The Operations Coordinator reports to ChemFoam’s Director of Operations and supports the Operations Manager in the day-to-day execution of shipments from origin through final customer delivery. This is a detail-oriented, relationship-driven role focused on keeping goods moving, partners informed, and customers satisfied. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and comfortable managing multiple active shipments in a fast-paced remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Shipment Coordination
- Track and manage active shipments from supplier origin through domestic delivery, maintaining up-to-date status on all open orders
- Coordinate scheduling and pickup with transportation companies and freight partners
- Liaise with international and domestic carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners to ensure on-time, accurate delivery
- Proactively identify and escalate shipment delays or issues, coordinating resolutions with the operations team
Partner & Customer Communication
- Communicate regularly with supplier partners regarding shipment schedules, loading confirmations, and delivery timelines
- Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for customers on order status, delivery coordination, and issue resolution
- Maintain clear, professional communication with all parties to ensure shipments are fulfilled without disruption
Accounts Receivable Support
- Prepare and issue invoices to customers on behalf of supplier partners upon shipment confirmation
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with customers on past-due payments in a professional manner
- Maintain accurate records of invoicing activity and payment status; escalate collection issues as appropriate
General Operations Support
- Maintain organized records of shipments, orders, and partner communications
- Assist the Director of Operations and Operations Manager on administrative and operational tasks as needed
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in logistics coordination, freight operations, customer service, or a related field preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable corresponding with domestic and international partners
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and follow through independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general comfort with digital communication and cloud-based tools
- Self-starter who thrives in a remote work environment with minimal direct supervision
- Experience with invoicing or basic accounts receivable functions is a plus
- A background in chemicals, manufacturing, or industrial distribution is a plus but not required
- Korean language proficiency (spoken and/or written) is a plus
