Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Director of Distribution Operations, the Manager, Inbound Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day inbound operations teams within the Austin Distribution Center, including receiving, inventory flow, putaway execution, and reverse logistics support.
This role is ideal for a hands-on operations leader who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, building high-performing teams, and driving scalable process improvements in a dynamic, high-growth environment. The Manager, Inbound Operations will play a key role in ensuring inventory is received accurately and efficiently while partnering cross-functionally to support business priorities, operational excellence, and future growth initiatives.
This position offers the opportunity to directly influence operational strategy, process optimization, labor planning, and team development within a rapidly evolving omnichannel distribution network.
Key Accountabilities:
Lead and develop the Distribution Center inbound operations team, including 5 direct reports, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, and strong execution across receiving and putaway functions
Lead reverse logistics operations including eCommerce returns, wholesale returns, and retail store pullbacks, ensuring timely processing, accurate inventory disposition, and visibility to return trends, cost exposure, and recovery opportunities to support operational and financial decision-making.
Drive operational performance against key metrics including dock-to-stock timing, inventory accuracy, SLA attainment, productivity, and throughput
Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Inventory Control, Transportation, Planning, and Merchandising teams to manage delivery schedules, receiving windows, and PO prioritization
Oversee labor planning and staffing strategies, including seasonal hiring, workforce optimization, and peak readiness planning
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on labor efficiency, operational scalability, inventory flow, and cost optimization
Effectively communicate operational results, business risks, staffing needs, and improvement opportunities to leadership
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Experience building and utilizing forecasting tools, glidepaths, and operational data to support labor planning, workload management, and peak readiness
Qualifications
5+ years of experience leading inbound, receiving, inventory, or distribution operations in a high-volume or high-growth environment
Experience in omnichannel distribution, retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods environments preferred
