Position Summary
The Director of Supply Chain owns the end‑to‑end supply chain strategy and execution supporting Dimension Energy’s development, construction, and operation of community solar projects. This role ensures materials and equipment are delivered on time, on budget, and in full compliance with project schedules, financing requirements, and U.S. trade and tax regulations.
This leader has direct accountability for procurement, logistics, inventory management, supplier strategy, Safe Harbor execution, and FEOC compliance. The Director partners closely with Development, Engineering, Construction, Finance, Legal, and executive leadership to manage risk and enable portfolio growth.
Responsibilities
Supply Chain Leadership
- Own and execute supply chain strategy from Notice to Proceed (NTP) through Commercial Operation Date (COD)
- Build scalable procurement, logistics, and inventory processes to support portfolio growth while controlling cost and risk
- Lead, mentor, and hold accountable the Logistics Manager and Procurement Manager
- Serve as the senior supply chain voice in project planning, executive reviews, and risk discussions
Procurement & Supplier Strategy
- Oversee sourcing and contracting for major solar components including modules, inverters, racking, transformers, and balance‑of‑plant materials
- Negotiate master supply agreements, long‑lead equipment purchases, and spot buys
- Partner with Finance and Legal to align commercial terms, warranties, payment schedules, and supplier risk with project and financing requirements
Logistics & Inventory Management
- Own domestic and international logistics strategy, including import/export, ports, warehousing, and last‑mile delivery
- Manage logistics execution across multiple concurrent projects with competing schedules
- Maintain shipment visibility, controls on inventory exposure, and delivery reliability through site receipt
Safe Harbor, FEOC & Trade Compliance
- Own Safe Harbor planning and execution, including equipment qualification, procurement timing, storage strategy, documentation, and audit readiness
- Ensure Safe Harbor assumptions align with Development, Finance, and Tax planning
- Own supply‑chain‑level compliance with FEOC, tariffs, domestic content, and other trade regulations
- Establish supplier vetting, origin traceability, and documentation processes supporting FEOC and Safe Harbor compliance
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and Tax to protect tax credits, tax equity, and project bankability
- Proactively identify and mitigate regulatory, geopolitical, and supplier‑origin risks
Cross‑Functional Project Support
- Align with Development and Engineering on equipment specifications, lead times, and sourcing strategies
- Partner with Construction and EPC teams on sequencing, site readiness, and execution certainty
- Provide proactive supply chain risk assessments and mitigation plans to project teams and executives
- Lead post‑project reviews and implement lessons learned across the portfolio
Initial Priorities (First 6–12 Months)
- Complete an end‑to‑end assessment of suppliers, logistics workflows, Safe Harbor exposure, and compliance risk
- Establish a formal supply chain risk register, inclusive of Safe Harbor and FEOC exposure
- Standardize procurement, logistics, and compliance processes across all projects
- Implement preferred supplier and logistics partner frameworks with performance scorecards
Ongoing Deliverables
- Annual supply chain strategy aligned with the development and construction roadmap
- Supplier diversification and risk mitigation plans for critical equipment categories
- Executive‑level dashboards for cost, schedule performance, inventory exposure, and supply chain risk
- Continuous improvement roadmap covering systems, processes, and organizational capability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, operations, or related field.
- 8–12+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including people leadership
- Experience supporting solar, renewable energy, EPC, or large‑scale infrastructure projects
- Proven success managing long‑lead equipment in project‑driven environments
- Strong contract negotiation and vendor management skills
- Experience with Safe Harbor execution, FEOC compliance, IRA, domestic content, or trade regulations strongly preferred
- Familiarity with international sourcing, Incoterms, and logistics compliance
- MBA or professional certifications (CSCP, CPSM) a plus
