As a Stair & Rail Repair Technician, you’ll use your carpentry skills to complete field repairs and installations on staircases, handrails, and related products in residential homes. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship and problem-solving.
You’ll travel to customer sites throughout the Charleston, SC area, performing skilled repair and installation work that reflects Summit’s high standards of quality. If you have experience as a trim carpenter, flooring installer, finish carpenter, or residential repair technician, this role is a great fit.
Travel to customer sites to inspect, repair, and install stair and rail systems.
Diagnose issues and determine the most effective repair solutions.
Perform carpentry and finish work using hand and power tools with precision.
Install or replace stair components, treads, and handrails as needed.
Work with accuracy to match existing finishes and materials.
Communicate effectively with customers, builders, and internal teams.
Document all work completed, including photos and repair reports.
Maintain a clean and safe work area, including inside your company vehicle.
Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to reduce future repairs.
Proven experience in carpentry, woodworking, or a related residential trade.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with hand and power tools used in carpentry and finish work.
Attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites.
Professional, customer-service-oriented approach.
Physical ability to lift/move materials and perform hands-on work throughout the day.
ASTM F2413-24 compliant safety toe footwear.
Full-time, field-based role inCharleston, SC. Candidate may live in surrounding areas such as Savannah GA, Myrtle Beach SC, Columbia SC,etc.
Company vehicle provided.
$19–$24 an hour, based on experience and skill level.
Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime.
