About the Role
This is a hands-on operations position based in Clearwater, FL, supporting international ocean freight shipments across both imports and exports.
You will be responsible for managing shipments end-to-end, coordinating with global partners, customers, and carriers while also maintaining ownership of shipment files and financial accuracy. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys balancing operations, customer service, and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ocean import and export shipments from booking through final delivery
- Coordinate with carriers, overseas agents, and logistics partners across multiple regions
- Prepare and review shipping documentation including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists
- Track shipments proactively and resolve operational issues before escalation
- Provide consistent communication and updates to customers throughout the shipment lifecycle
- Prepare customer quotations and support pricing activities
- Maintain accurate shipment file records, billing, and financial data
- Process vendor invoices and support month-end reconciliation activities
Candidate Requirements
- 5+ years of experience within ocean freight forwarding operations
- Strong understanding of international import/export processes and documentation
- Experience managing shipments end-to-end (A–Z)
- Comfortable handling both operational and financial aspects of shipment files
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced logistics environment
- Experience within freight forwarding or NVOCC operations preferred
- Familiarity with logistics or ERP systems is advantageous
