Role Description
This is a full-time, remote + on-site role located in Waconia, MN for a Mechanical Design Engineer. The professional will be responsible for designing, developing, and refining mechanical components and systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that designs meet safety, functionality, and cost requirements. Additional responsibilities include conducting engineering analysis, prototyping, and testing to validate and optimize designs while adhering to industry standards and company goals.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical design skills, including CAD proficiency with tools like SolidWorks or similar software
- Experience in prototyping, testing, and iterative design processes
- Knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes, and tolerance analysis
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in model and documentation preparation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Ability to understand safety standards and regulatory compliance related to mechanical design
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required; advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas are a plus
- Experience designing medical devices or assistive mobility products is highly desirable
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively
