Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced IT Director to play a dual leadership role across our organization. This individual will be leading complex infrastructure operations and business application projects while also serving as the founding technical lead for a new consulting practice.
This role serves as a hands-on senior technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and securing enterprise-scale infrastructure and application environments across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud platforms. The position leads modernization initiatives spanning servers, virtualization, networking, storage, security, and core business systems while ensuring high availability, resilience, and performance. Acting as an escalation-level engineer and trusted advisor, the role drives architecture standards, cybersecurity strategy, compliance alignment, and long-term technology roadmaps. In addition to hands-on technical leadership, this position mentors engineers, supports client and leadership engagement, and contributes to solution design, service development, and strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement enterprise infrastructure across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments
- Lead server, virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud modernization initiatives
- Architect high-availability, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
- Establish technical standards and documentation practices
- Lead deployment and integration of enterprise business systems (ERP, CRM, line-of-business applications)
- Design secure and scalable application architectures
- Support identity integration, access controls, and system interoperability
- Provide Tier 3 / escalation-level support across infrastructure, business solutions, and security domains
- Serve as senior technical advisor to leadership and clients
- Implement and optimize firewalls, EDR/XDR, SIEM, IAM, vulnerability management, and data protection solutions
- Mentor junior engineers and help scale technical operations
- Contribute to long-term technology roadmap and strategic planning
- Define and develop cybersecurity service offerings, standards, and delivery methodologies
- Establish tooling strategy, vendor partnerships, and technical best practices
- Conduct security assessments, remediation planning, and incident response
- Participate in client discovery, solution design, and proposal development
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in Information Technology roles with emphasis in enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, or infrastructure engineering
- Experience leading complex technical projects end-to-end
- Strong client-facing communication and solution design capabilities
- Ability to operate independently in high-responsibility and growth-focused environments
- Entrepreneurial mindset with hands-on execution ability
- Demonstrated expertise across network security, cloud platforms, identity management, and enterprise systems
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or equivalent.
