The Role
We are seeking a Head of Operations to lead and scale the end-to-end operations of Menē, spanning manufacturing, inventory, fulfillment, and operational infrastructure.
Reporting to the CEO, this role sits at the core of the business, ensuring products are manufactured with precision and consistency, managed with rigorous inventory discipline, delivered seamlessly to customers, and supported by scalable, efficient operational systems.
You will oversee all operational functions, including the U.S. factory, supply chain, quality control, warehousing, logistics, risk management, security, and health & safety.
You are expected to hit the ground running - quickly identifying gaps, implementing improvements, developing a strategy, and building a scalable operational model to support growth. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring the ability to operate with autonomy and deliver results in a lean organization.
Success in this role will require you to operate with a true owner mindset – demonstrating deep belief in the brand, product, and customer, treating the business as your own.
Key Responsibilities
Operations:
- Lead day-to-day operations and while building and continuously improving systems, processes and workflows to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators, timelines, and budgets. Proactively identify any deviations, diagnose root causes, and implement thoughtful and actionable solutions.
- Successfully manage operating costs, reduce quality control issues and ensure our operating and manufacturing models are flexible enough to accommodate significant future growth.
- Exercise independent discretion in identifying creative ways to work with a relatively tight operations budget, maximizing ROI while maintaining quality standards.
- Independently develop and document processes that ensure business continuity.
- Demonstrate the ability to provide support and assistance in all aspects of operations in order to ensure tasks are completed in a timely fashion.
- Employ a continuous improvement mentality and skill set, with clear prioritization between urgent and high-impact initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong data management and analysis skills. Proficiency with Excel, data analytics tools and being able to easily and quickly manipulate large data sets and extract valuable insights that will move the business forward is a must.
People & Partners
- Anticipate company needs and align team structure with changing organizational dynamics and strategic goals and vision.
- Analyze, develop, and implement innovative methods to increase employee productivity.
- Hire, train, and provide support to existing or new employees on all systems used for day-to-day business operations.
- Ensure full compliance for all employment, health & safety, legal and regulatory requirements relevant for a manufacturing environment.
- Evaluate team and individual progress against established targets/goals. Ensure team is performing at required levels of proficiency. Ensure promotion and succession plans are in place.
- Own all 3rd party relationships associated with operations and manufacturing, including suppliers and partners; negotiate effectively to achieve the best possible outcome for the business while maintaining strong working relationships.
Leadership:
- Prove autonomy to make key decisions and move the business forward without oversight. The ability to plan, manage and deliver results, solutions, and advice.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships. An understanding that Operations is first and foremost about people.
- Act as a senior leader in the business by ensuring your reach and influence spans the entire organization and moves the entire business forward, not just your department. You should be able to effect change on any part of our business to ensure growth while containing costs.
- Collaborate closely with all other functions and their leaders to ensure alignment, coordination, and seamless execution across the business.
- Lead through change, maintaining team alignment, employee engagement, and performance in a fast-paced environment.
- Take full ownership of outcomes and do what is necessary to ensure the growth and long-term success of Menē.
Other Duties and Skills Required
- 8-10+ years of broad experience in operations leadership, with deep expertise in e-commerce operations, manufacturing, and supply chain
- Strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., just-in-time)
- Experience in jewelry, luxury, fashion, retail, or other consumer goods industries is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business operations or a related technical field is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage time effectively.
- The ability to travel from time to time, as required.
- Consistently meet or exceed Company performance expectations and uphold all Company policies and procedures at all times.
Compensation
This role offers a salary in the range of $150,000 - $200,000 USD. Paid time off is provided, and additional benefits will be discussed during the hiring process.
