Our Client is a leading manufacturer of metal fabrication products that are used in a wide variety of sectors. The majority of products are custom engineered metal electrical enclosures sold to the electrical construction and data center markets.
The Company is private equity backed and they plan to continue to expand more rapidly through deeper market penetration, end market diversification, new product introductions, and potential strategic add-on acquisitions.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This CEO will join a thriving business with tremendous upside and opportunity in the years ahead. The CEO will be joining a company who:
- Has no debt and an extremely strong and attractive financial position
- Has historically grown via word of mouth with no true strategic outbound sales or marketing effort. Thus, there is a meaningful opportunity to build out that capability.
- Sits in the “data center capital” in Northern Virginia, which presents meaningful growth opportunities “in the backyard” but also tremendous opportunity to expand geographically to other areas of the country that have not been pursued.
- Wants to thoughtfully pursue strategic acquisitions

The successful candidate will bring a track record of successful experience leading both commercial and operational efforts within another similar, lower middle market sized manufacturing company.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 15-plus years of overall experience of which at least 10 years in a leadership/general management role in a manufacturing business with a track record of driving growth within that organization or organizations. Prior experience operating as a CEO within a private equity environment is strongly preferred and metal fabrication experience is a plus
- The ideal candidate will have worked in a CEO / President / GM capacity with full P&L responsibility for a business or division that was $20M – 100M in size.
- Experience having responsibility for strategic and operating plans, sales and marketing, operational excellence, budgets, KPIs, engineering, production, supply chain, HR, and IT with progressively increasing responsibilities.
- Demonstrated a verifiable track record of rapidly growing a business, or group of businesses through organic as well as growth by acquisition, achieving significant growth across both revenues and EBITDA on an annual basis.
- Has worked in an environment where he/she has served as a true change agent to the business.
- Familiarity with the company’s current end market, electrical contractors, aerospace, metal fabrication &/or industrial customers is a plus but not required.
- Is a strategic thinker and leader who, while comfortable in the trenches, maintains a long-term perspective and steadily stays the course.
- Excels at turning strategy into setting goals and driving critical accountability for the team thereby fostering a culture of execution and achievement.
- Extensive experience scaling a company through recruiting, assessing, hiring and retaining management and teams, including maximizing the effectiveness of organizational structures and internal processes.
- Excellent and inspiring communicator, who respects every level of employee and that person’s ability to contribute to the Company’s performance. A “people person” who is a great listener with genuine empathy and humility.
- A person with entrepreneurial instincts who possesses strategic thinking abilities with the imagination and foresight in conceptualizing new business opportunities and perhaps new service offerings in a rapidly paced market.
- Creative problem-solver who influences others to think differently, raises the bar, and considers alternative solutions, while being knowledgeable about how the Company got to its current position in their market.
- A candidate with strong sales & marketing and commercial experience is preferred.
- Thrives in a lower-mid market business environment ripe for change and growth, rallies the team, and brings everyone together to achieve common goals and objectives.
- An undergraduate degree is required. An MBA or graduate degree is strongly preferred.
