We are seeking a
Physicist I in our
Broomfield, CO Location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with a team of research scientists to operate, maintain, and upgrade a commercial quantum computer
- Analyze performance and reliability of the system and work with scientific team to plan upgrades and add features
- Support cross-disciplinary teams with sophisticated technical problems
- Independently operate and solve issues
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in physics or relevant engineering field such as optical, electrical, mechanical, or software preferred.
- 1 year hands-on laboratory experience (degree inclusive), maintaining, troubleshooting and operating electronic systems, complex optical systems or vacuum/cryogenic systems
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen
WE VALUE:
- Master’s degree in physics or relevant engineering field such as optical, electrical, mechanical, or software
- Experience with optics and lasers
- Experience with vacuum systems, electronics, or cryogenics
- Strong computer skills including ability to program in Python
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to expand knowledge, learn new skills, and push the boundary of what’s possible
- Able to think critically, solve problems, and be a strong teammate with intelligent risk-taking skills

Compensation & Benefits:
The pay range for this role is $80,000 - $101,000 yearly. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
