Job Title: Air Freight Planning Liaison
Contract: 12 months | Rate: $40/hr
Schedule: Onsite first month, then hybrid (3 days)
Candidates with transportation management experience who can handle both domestic and international shipments
Importance of Transportation Management Experience:
The key requirement is a background in Transportation Management, which refers to handling logistics, shipment coordination, and ensuring goods are moved efficiently.
Preference for Domestic and International Shipment Management Experience:
The ideal candidates should have experience managing shipments both within the country (domestic) and internationally. This is a preferred but not absolutely necessary trait.
Skills:
- 3–5 years experience in air & ocean transport
- Strong planning, communication, and Excel skills
- Bilingual (preferred)
Role Overview:
Manage and optimize airfreight usage for Client North America transportation team, ensuring compliance, cost control, and efficiency.
Main Responsibilities:
- Review and approve airfreight requests, ensuring necessity and compliance
- Monitor costs, CO₂ impact, and identify non-compliance
- Analyze POs and work with planning teams to reduce airfreight usage
- Maintain data for cost and transit-time comparisons (air vs ocean)
- Collaborate with finance on cost allocation
- Forecast airfreight demand and coordinate with carriers
- Track forecast vs actual usage and improve accuracy
- Identify alternatives to airfreight and improve processes
- Develop KPIs and support ad-hoc projects
