General Manager (Future Leader)
Location: Knoxville Tennessee area (preferred), open to relocation

About the Opportunity
Our client is an established company operating in a specialized segment of the logistics and cargo industry, focused on the purchase, recovery, and resale of damaged, surplus, and abandoned freight across multiple transportation modes.
They are seeking a General Manager to join the business in a hands on capacity, working directly with ownership to learn all aspects of operations, commercial strategy, and execution. This role is designed with long term growth in mind, with the opportunity to take on increasing leadership responsibility over time.
Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with ownership to learn and manage day to day business operations
• Oversee operational processes related to cargo acquisition, recovery, and resale
• Identify and execute on commercial opportunities to drive revenue growth
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and partners
• Improve internal processes, workflows, and overall business efficiency
• Support financial oversight, including budgeting and profitability tracking
• Contribute to long term strategic planning and business development initiatives
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
• Experience in logistics, supply chain, operations, or a related field preferred
• Strong business acumen and problem solving ability
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and operate in a hands on environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
• Willingness to learn a specialized business and grow into a leadership role
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range of $80,000 to $125,000 annually, plus performance based bonus. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Additional benefits may be discussed during the interview process.
Location Requirements
Tennessee(Knoxville area) is preferred.
