deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer to support development of the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA's) Ground-Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) program on the GWS program.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 6 years of related experience, or 5 years of experience with a PhD in STEM.
- Strong technical presentation skills
- Experience estimating planning and scheduling Algorithm development and Analysis work for a technical team
- Recent and extensive MATLAB and Python Experience/ proficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and absorb new concepts.
- Proven experience in developing, prototyping and evaluating complex algorithms
- Extensive background in mathematics or science
- Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Special Skills Desired:
- Experience with the MDA GMD program.
- Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics
- Unix/Linux Operating System Experience
- Experience with planning / scheduling algorithms
- Experience with sensor modeling, communication modeling, and / or missile modelling
- Battle Management or Fire Control experience
- Experienced with Linux, scripting, and operations
