Fleet Manager Summary
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for the overall management and maintenance of our company fleet,
ensuring optimal vehicle performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The incumbent will oversee equipment
acquisition, maintenance, efficiency optimization, safety, and compliance.
Fleet Manager Job Duties
Responsible for equipment acquisition and disposal, selecting the right vehicles for the fleet based on
company needs and managing the disposal process when vehicles reach the end of their lifecycle.
Responsible for scheduling routine maintenance and repairs, tracking vehicle service history,
coordinating with repair shops, and ensuring vehicles are properly inspected and maintained for safety.
- Will regularly complete full onsite inspections on fleet and other company equipment.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining equipment inventory log for each location.
- Responsible for analyzing fuel consumption, identifying cost-savings measures, managing fleet fuel cards, minimizing downtime, and optimizing vehicle utilization to minimize operational expenses.
- Will ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations related to vehicle maintenance, and safety standards.
- Responsible for ensuring all vehicles and equipment have the correct transportation permits.
- Will utilize telematics systems to monitor vehicle location, fuel usage, and driver behavior, generating reports on fleet performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Responsible for ensuring all hardware, including cameras, GPS units, tablets, and ELD’s, are installed correctly and are in working condition.
- Responsible for analyzing data from the fleet management system to identify trends, make informed decisions, and improve overall fleet performance.
- Will oversee the work of external maintenance providers and ensure quality and timely service.
- Responsible for conducting safety training programs for drivers and other relevant personnel.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to the company's fleet.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
- Familiarity with fleet management software and telematics systems.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in budgeting and cost management.
