Logistics Manager
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000
Overview:
Our client, a stable and growing mid-sized industrial manufacturer, is seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize all inbound and outbound logistics operations across their manufacturing network. This individual will play a key role in managing transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities while driving efficiency improvements and supporting production demands. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily logistics operations including inbound materials, outbound shipments, and internal material flow
- Manage relationships with carriers, freight brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs)
- Optimize transportation routes, freight costs, and delivery timelines to improve efficiency and reduce spend
- Coordinate closely with production, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure on-time delivery
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to shipping, inventory movement, and cost control
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within logistics and distribution processes
- Ensure compliance with all applicable shipping, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Manage inventory movement strategies across facilities, including warehouse layout and material handling improvements
- Supervise and develop logistics or shipping personnel as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of freight, carrier management, and distribution operations
- Experience working in a high-mix, fast-paced production environment preferred
- Proven ability to drive cost savings and process improvements
- Familiarity with ERP systems and logistics/transportation management systems (TMS)
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
