The Construction Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the quality of all onsite operations on concrete construction projects. This role involves performing detailed inspections, coordinating with construction teams, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and project specifications. This position is based out of our Ashland, Virginia office.
Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of concrete reinforcing steel, embedded items, concrete formwork, and concrete placements alongside special and government inspectors. Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities. Inspect and verify the placement, alignment, and securing concrete reinforcing steel and embedded components before concrete placements.
Installation Monitoring: Monitor the installation processes to verify adherence to design requirements and quality standards. Monitor field testing of materials, such as concrete sampling and compression tests, complete by special inspectors.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit daily and daily quality control reports. Document any non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions with the construction team.
Review and Analysis: Review and analyze test results to ensure materials meet project specifications. Ensure compliance with contract documents, and project-specific requirements.
Quality Control Planning: Stay updated with industry standards, such as ACI (American Concrete Institute) guidelines. Assist in the development and implementation of quality control plans and procedures.
Quality Issue Collaboration: Work with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to address quality issues and ensure seamless workflow. Provide guidance and training to construction personnel on quality control practices and standards. Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on quality-related matters.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Five (5) years of construction quality control or concrete construction testing and inspections required, or an associate’s degree or higher in constructions management or a related field preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively with worksite staff and project leadership. Must have a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods related to concrete construction. Must have an understanding of safety requirements and compliance. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in using quality control and inspection tools and software. Must be eligible to work in the United States, and meet the qualifications for secure location access.
Physical Needs:
Must have the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions in a construction environment. Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time, and be able to climb. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
