Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for assistance to personnel on individual projects in all phases of the project duration. The Project Engineer assists by building strong relationships with coworkers and subcontractors, while driving innovation, operational excellence, and alignment with Lauth’s mission and core values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Preconstruction Responsibilities
- · Collaborate with Manager of Preconstruction with on site and building layouts via CADD / REVIT.
- · Collaborate with Manager of Preconstruction to complete accurate quantity takeoffs – OST or Manual.
- · Assist with subcontract bidding, bid tracking and bid receipt.
- · Assist with subcontractor bid proposal review and bid summaries.
- · Support business development by contributing to go/no-go decisions, RFP strategy sessions, and pursuit meetings.
- · Work with Preconstruction Manager to create exhibits that are required for proposal submissions.
- · Create job specific QA/QC tracking logs for each specific trade (to be executed by Project Manager per below.)
- · Assist with reconfiguring estimating database and subcontractor bid spread summary.
- · Ensure all preconstruction activities reflect Lauth’s values of integrity, innovation, and long-term partnership.
Project Management Responsibilities (Office)
- · Collaborate with Project Manager’s to maintain QA/QC tracking logs.
- · Assist with scheduling Pre-Install meetings.
- · Assist with validation of Job Ready inspections.
- · Aid confirming Scope Conformance.
- · Work with Project Manager’s to receive / review / track submittals.
- · Collection of Owner / Subcontract change order requests and tracking.
- · Work with Project Manager’s on startup and closeout project documentation.
Project Management Responsibilities (Field)
- · Work with Superintendents to maintain QA/QC tracking logs.
- · Schedule 3rd Party Construction Materials Testing inspections.
- · Assist Superintendents during scope verification inspections.
- · Assist Superintendents during final scope conformance reviews.
- · Schedule and track any required product performance testing.
- · Work with Superintendents to create / distribute / complete punch lists.
- · Cover for Superintendents onsite when they have PTO / Other.
Innovation & Value Creation
- · Identify opportunities to apply emerging technologies, data analytics, and AI-assisted estimating tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- · Develop creative solutions that enhance project feasibility, speed to market, and overall lifecycle performance.
- · Contribute to the development of standard specifications, design guidelines, and process improvements that strengthen Lauth’s competitive advantage.
- · Champion the use of AI and advanced modeling tools as a resource—while ensuring they never replace core professional acumen, critical thinking, and judgment.
Success Metrics:
- · Maintain 100% compliance in creating, organizing, and updating project documentation—including QA/QC logs, submittals, and change orders assuring all records are accurate and retrievable.
- · Deliver complete and accurate quantity takeoffs, bid summaries, and proposal exhibits with fewer than 2% errors and within project bid schedule deadlines 95% of the time.
- · Achieve an internal satisfaction rating of 90% or higher from project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors regarding communication, responsiveness, and support effectiveness.
- · Ensure 100% of assigned projects pass all third-party material testing, inspections, and punch list closeouts without major rework, aligning with Lauth’s QA/QC and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- · 4-year college degree, preferably in engineering, architecture or building construction management.
- · Computer skills required — knowledge of Microsoft office suite and Microsoft outlook.
- · Specialty software: Sage estimating, Bluebeam Revu, On Screen Take-Off, Building Connected, Procore Project Management software, Microsoft Project.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
