Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and construction, with the ability to work on various projects including residential and commercial buildings. The Mason will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, block, stone, and other materials. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Construct and repair walls, floors, and other structures using bricks, blocks, stones, and concrete.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications.
- Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks as required.
- Install rebar for reinforcement in concrete structures.
- Execute hardscape projects including patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals on-site to ensure project completion.
- Conduct restoration work on existing masonry structures.
- Apply plastering techniques for finishing surfaces as needed.
- Engage in carpentry tasks such as trim carpentry and frame carpentry when required.
- Operate heavy equipment as necessary for specific tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations on the construction site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in masonry or related construction fields.
- Proficiency in concrete finishing techniques and hardscape installation.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately is a plus.
- Experience with plastering, caulking, tiling, stucco application, and metal stud framing is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of safety practices in a construction environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods.
