Construction Laborer – Guide Rail & Sign Installation
Based out of Oaks Corners, NY | Work Sites Across New York State
Elderlee Inc. is hiring motivated, hardworking Construction Laborers to join our traveling crews installing guide rails and highway signs on NYSDOT and similar projects throughout New York State. If you enjoy hands‑on work and thrive in a team environment this could be the opportunity for you.

What You’ll Do
As part of a skilled crew, you’ll work under the direction of a Foreman or Superintendent to safely and efficiently complete roadway projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel 100% of the time, Monday–Friday (April through December)
- Load and unload materials from trucks
- Repeatedly lift and handle materials weighing 50+ lbs
- Operate hand and power tools
- Install guide rail and roadway signs as directed
- Assist with job site cleanup and organization
- Work collaboratively with crew members to meet project goals
- Drive commercial vehicles to and from job sites
- Maintain truck logbooks per state and federal regulations
- Inspect trucks and equipment (tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc.)
- Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Keep trucks clean and well‑maintained
- Obtain Flag Person Certification if required
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
Successful candidates must be comfortable with the physical and outdoor nature of the work.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Load, unload, and safely transport materials
- Lift and handle 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day
- Stand and walk for 8 hours per day
- Travel full‑time during the work season
- Work some nights and weekends as required
Preferred Qualifications
We’re willing to train if you have:
- Highway or construction experience
- CDL Class A or B (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment physical and drug screening
- Basic construction skills (using a tape measure, hand and power tools)
- Willingness to learn, grow, and join a union
- Reliable transportation to and from Oaks Corners, NY
- (All crews depart and return to Oaks Corners each week)
