Our client specializes in designing and manufacturing components for a number of manufacturing sectors, including Aerospace, Medical, and Energy.They are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead their NPD team (New Product Development), at their site near to Canton, Massachusetts.The Engineering Manager for NPD provides both strategic and hands-on leadership to a cross-functional team of Design, Project, and Manufacturing Engineers responsible for launching new products and accelerating process innovation. You will lead the full technical execution of new product development, guiding projects from concept and design through prototyping, validation, and production release with the support of a high-performing engineering team.

The Role
Lead and develop a high-performing team of 8–10 multidisciplinary engineers through mentorship, training, performance management, and strong technical guidance.Own the full New Product Development (NPD) process, driving cross-functional collaboration from concept and design through prototyping, qualification, and initial production.Champion strategic improvement initiatives, including design tool development, process standardization, and adoption of engineering best practices to boost efficiency and product quality.Review and approve technical deliverables such as design packages, compliance matrices, customer documentation, and project schedules to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to requirements.Communicate and coordinate effectively with all stakeholders (internal and external), including executives, operations, sales, quality, suppliers, and customers to maintain alignment, ensure transparency, and support timely decision-making.Strengthen communication and knowledge sharing across Engineering and the broader organization.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field required.10 years plus progressive engineering experience in aerospace, precision manufacturing, or other high-reliability industries.At least 3 years in an engineering leadership or management role, with a record of leading multidisciplinary teams.Proven experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and product qualification.Experience working within AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems.Familiarity working with Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured continuous improvement methodologies.Able to project manage multiple complex projects at one time.Strong foundations in Mechanical Design and manufacturing processes.
