Globetrotters is seeking a talented HYDRAULIC ENGINEER to serve as a key contributor on our transportation team.
In this role, you will:
- Prepare Location Drainage Studies, hydraulic reports, and supporting technical documentation
- Analyze and design roadway storm drainage systems, culverts, detention facilities, open channels and erosion control measures.
- Make technical decisions based on code interpretation as well as company, client, and industry standard practices
- Perform field visits to assess existing conditions
- Prepare construction documents, e.g, plans and specs, for related drainage work
- Serve as a technical advisor for the team
- Work closely with all levels of staff, including management and other senior professionals
- Interact with clients and subconsultants
- Direct coordination between other disciplines
- Provide QA/QC review of design calculations or drawings
- Mentor junior staff and review technical work (as applicable)
- Other duties, as assigned
We are looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- A PE license, Illinois PE a plus
- 5 plus years of experience designing drainage systems, highway systems, and traffic control plans
- Experience with IDOT, Illinois Tollway, and CDOT design standard and policies (Chicago only)
- Proficiency in MicroStation, Open Roads, GEOPAK, HEC RAS, and/or other engineering and drainage software programs
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders, including clients and subconsultants
- Ability to work independently, but also within a team environment

Salary range is $95,000 – $130,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
