Position Summary
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of workers engaged in materials movement, handling, receiving, loading, unloading, transporting, stacking, order filling, shipping, and maintaining stock in the warehouse.
Essential Job Functions
- Enforce operational procedures for activities including verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
- Schedule warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing for daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, maintenance, and inventory control
- Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment, prepare work orders for repairs, and request inspections for replacement of equipment
- Review work processes and recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product or service, and suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency, keep accurate records, and ensure product quality
- Assist employees, vendors, or customers by answering questions related to warehouse processes, procedures, and services. Mentor and train team members, handle general employee inquiries, and resolve problems
- Ensure completion and accuracy of warehouse activity and productivity reporting, including timesheets, yields, pounds per man-hour, and reduction of downtime
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- One year of warehouse experience
- One year of leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of warehouse experience
- Two years of leadership experience
- Bilingual
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor, and work independently and within a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk and reach above the head. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels
