Role and Responsibilities
The Logistic Lead is responsible for coordinating and executing day‑to‑day warehouse and logistics activities of the site. This role supports the efficient movement, storage, and control of materials and finished goods while ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with company procedures. The Logistics Lead provides hands‑on support, drives standard processes, and coordinates warehouse staff to meet daily operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily execution of warehouse activities including:
- Shipping & Receiving
- Warehousing
- Materials Handling
- Order Filling, Picking, and Packing
- Inventory Control & Records Management
- Monitor material movement and ensure timely flow of goods to support production and customer shipments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, reconciliations, and proper transaction management.
- Ensure accurate and compliant documentation for all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Coordinate with Production, Procurement, and Customer Service to meet material availability requirements.
- Support implementation and adherence to warehouse SOPs, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
- Provide daily direction to warehouse operators, including task assignment, prioritization, and basic performance feedback.
- Assist in problem-solving to reduce shipping errors, inventory discrepancies, and delays.
- Maintain warehouse organization, housekeeping, and compliance with 5S/Lean practices.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and ensure team compliance with equipment procedures.
- Support continuous improvement activities in logistics and warehouse processes.
- Communicate issues or risks to the Site Supply Chain Manager promptly.
- Additional support activities as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
- 3–5 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, materials handling, or related functions.
- Experience coordinating warehouse/ logistics activities in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control methods, and logistics processes.
- Experience with WMS or ERP systems (e.g., Fourth Shift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lead small teams, assign tasks, and support employee development on a day‑to‑day basis.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Understanding of workplace safety requirements and material handling best practices.
- Forklift certification or ability to become certified is required.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to simplify and communicate operational information clearly.
- Comfort working with tight deadlines and minimal supervision.
- Experience with Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement activities is an advantage.
- Experience with SAP a big plus. Modules (IM & WM) along with Shipping /Receiving.
