Position Description
You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the LOGISTICS DEPARTMENT of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. The F-35 Lightning II Program is bringing cutting-edge technology to the battlespace of the future and providing asymmetrical advantage to today's warfighters across the globe. With technologically advanced airframe, logistics, avionics and propulsion systems, this multi-role fighter jet is the world's foremost stealthy, lethal, supportable and survivable aircraft to dominate the sky.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- You will participate in the design and development of new systems by assessing the supportability and maintainability of proposed systems and technology applications.
- You will recommend feasible design and alternatives to acquisition engineers and managers for systems with poor maintainability features or which are unsupportable.
- You will provide direction to the element managers on planning and technical factors, review element plans for accomplishment of objectives, balance and ensure capability among elements, and integrate element plans to form a comprehensive ILS plan.
- You will manage and direct the ILSMT such that the ILS Plan is complete and implemented by the end of the development phase.
- You will direct the logistics maintenance portion of the technical source selection evaluation board, review proposals, and evaluate offer proposals concerning logistics.
- You will chair logistic meeting/conferences with authority to make and approve/disapprove decision, recommendations, and make the final decision on logistics support policy.
- You will continuously explore advanced logistics/maintenance techniques and new technology for possible application or integration into existing systems.
- You will establish and maintain contracts with technical/support personnel and high-level officials throughout the fleet, field, NAVAIR, and other SYSCOM’s and military departments.
