Location: NYC / San Francisco / Toronto / Remote
Role Type: Full-time
Comp: $90,000- $130,000
Background
Pepper is working to re-invent the food supply chain.
With a team of experienced people from Uber Eats, Google, Microsoft, WeWork, and more, we’re building digital tools that power foodservice wholesalers, helping them grow faster and do more with less -- and in the process transforming one of the largest, most fundamental industries in our society.
We're tackling a gnarly $650B industry that's still run off paper, and we've got the right timing and the right people to make it happen.
Our financial backers are some of the most reputable venture capital firms in the NYC and SF Bay Area.
Why This Role Matters at Pepper
Growth Agent is Pepper’s new growth engine.
We’re building a data-driven platform that connects suppliers and distributors through measurable campaigns and incentives — unlocking new revenue for both sides of the marketplace.
But the systems that power this motion are still being built.
This role is for a high-agency, high energy builder who wants to help design and scale that engine and is looking specifically looking to work at a hyper growth start up.
You’ll sit at the intersection of data, operations, and go-to-market, working directly with leadership to identify where revenue is being created — and where it’s stuck.
You won’t just report on the product. You’ll help build it.
What You’ll Do
- Help launch and operate campaigns
- Analyze supplier and distributor opportunities to support Pepper’s sales motion
- Build dashboards, models, and internal tools that power decision-making
- Identify operational bottlenecks and design AI native solutions to remove them
- Partner with sales, engineering, and operations to scale what works
- Replace manual processes with automation and smarter systems while simultaneously identifying productization opportunities
- Turn messy operational problems into structured, repeatable workflows
- Roll up your sleeves and tackle any operational challenge that comes your way in a first principle thinking way
Your Experience
- Strong analytical mindset- ie you’re a numbers person innately- you’re comfortable working with data, models, and systems
- Experience with data tools such as SQL, Python, Claude Code, or advanced spreadsheets
- Ability to translate ambiguous problems into concrete solutions, then build the solutions or work with engineering to productize
- Curiosity about automation, systems design, and how businesses actually run
- A builder mentality: you like creating things, not just analyzing them
- High ownership and a bias toward action
You don’t need to come from a specific background, however many successful candidates come from consulting, investment banking, product ops, analytics, engineering, or founder-type experiences.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- You’ll help build a new revenue motion from scratch inside a high-growth company
- You’ll work directly with leadership on problems that drive real revenue
- You’ll gain experience across operations, analytics, and product systems
- You’ll learn how data-driven businesses actually scale
- You’ll join a team backed by leading investors with the resources and ambition to build something massive
Most importantly:
This role is for builders. If shipping AI-native products fast and solving problems that actually matter sounds like your idea of a good time, you'll thrive here.
