Position Overview:
The
IT Infrastructure Engineer plays a strategic and hands-on role in designing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-wide IT systems. This position ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure, including cloud platforms, networks, identity systems, endpoint devices, and automation tools. The Infrastructure Engineer provides advanced technical leadership, supports major IT initiatives, and contributes to long-term IT strategy and operational excellence.
Core Infrastructure Responsibilities
- Manage the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of endpoint management tools and systems.
- Manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable and secure enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN/WLAN and cloud platforms across geographically dispersed locations.
- Monitor network performance, identify risks, and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and optimal throughput.
- Ensure infrastructure, applications, and systems meet security standards and maintain HIPAA compliance.
- Manage deployment and technical support of cloud-based storage solutions and cloud-hosted systems.
- Manage deployment and support of servers, storage devices, and enterprise infrastructure components.
Advanced & Strategic Responsibilities
- Develop and implement automated Identity and Access Management processes and tooling to streamline onboarding, offboarding, and service request fulfillment.
- Collaborate closely with the IT Service Desk to ensure timely and effective resolution of incidents and service requests aligned with ITSM processes.
- Manage the IT Change Enablement process to ensure changes are planned, tested, documented, and executed with minimal business disruption.
- Lead and deliver large-scale infrastructure projects aligned with organizational goals and capacity needs.
- Contribute to IT strategy development, capacity planning, forecasting, and resource allocation to support growth and innovation.
- Evaluate, select, and manage vendor relationships and tools that support organizational infrastructure needs.
- Stay informed on modern technology trends including cloud infrastructure, collaboration platforms, virtualization, automation, and AI-driven IT operations
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
License/Certification
- Network: CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE 4/5/8, or equivalent.
- ITSM: ITIL Foundations, HDI-SCM.
- Microsoft: MCSA/MCSE, Azure Network Engineering Associate (AZ-700), Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop Administrator, or Microsoft Fundamentals certifications (AZ-900, MS-900, SC-900).
- Additional security or infrastructure-focused certifications are a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 8+ years of IT service experience, with at least 3+ years in infrastructure leadership or technical management.
- Extensive experience managing enterprise IT environments, including Active Directory, Group Policies, virtualization, cloud platforms (preferably Azure), and networking protocols.
- Experience with Fortinet network infrastructure required.
- Proven ability to evaluate, implement, and scale IT systems in a rapidly growing environment.
- Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting, system architecture, and endpoint management.
- Demonstrated experience applying ITIL best practices to drive operational maturity.
- Experience implementing or managing enterprise ITSM platforms such as Jira or ServiceNow.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- High capacity with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, networks, and security best practices.
- Working knowledge of Azure, Active Directory, and Identity & Access Management technologies.
- Familiarity with enterprise service desk platforms (Jira, ServiceNow) including asset tracking, imaging, remote access, and automation tools.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with industry-standard endpoint security tools.
