Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
We are seeking a creative, impact-oriented, and experienced Director to lead our application security, platform security, corporate identity, and enterprise security functions within the Information Security team at LinkedIn. This role touches everything at LinkedIn and has the potential to protect and improve every aspect of our systems and operations.
You will drive our efforts to:
- Secure LinkedIn’s systems, from our products down to our infrastructure, both by working with teams developing those systems and by developing systems to better secure them, such as code scanning and cloud security enforcement.
- Work with other security teams to ensure that the systems we are building (such as security infrastructure) are secure and to collaborate with the Detection & Response team on red teaming and penetration tests.
- Secure our corporate systems. This involves developing deploying security tooling as well as working with teams such as IT to improve the security of systems like our networks and endpoints.
- Direct the execution of large-scale programs, managing full lifecycle operations and guiding the strategic direction of multiple security functions.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous growth.
- Manage our corporate Identity management infrastructure.
Key Deliverables and Measures of Success (Next 12 months)
- Develop management practices to improve reliability, quality and performance of security services built and operated by enterprise security.
- Deliver key enterprise security improvements, such as Zero Trust, endpoint protection, and sophisticated management of security
- Drive the short, medium, and long-term roadmap for the team.
- Develop talent on the team, unlocking future opportunities and potential.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years in security engineering leadership.
- 10+ years in security of production and enterprise systems, with 5+ of those years in a technical or people leadership position.
- 4+ years experience in one or more of the following areas: application security, production security, and/or enterprise security.
- Bachelors degree in a quantitative field - Computer Science, Operational Research, Statistics, Economics or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years in cybersecurity for a highly regulated industry (e.g., finance, healthcare, energy) or technology.
- Have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful cybersecurity strategies, including defense-in-depth.
- 10+ years’ experience in securing large systems.
- 5+ years experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures.
- Extensive understanding of secure software engineering for production systems, securing commercial off the shelf software in corporate environments, and experience running large scale corporate identity management systems
- Strong leadership abilities in order to communicate and drive cross-functional efforts.
- Ability to lead by example and inspire a diverse, geographically-distributed team to perform at a very high level.
- Highly motivated and has the ability to convert vague and ill-defined problems into well-defined problems, take initiative and encourage consensus building across the entire organization.
- Make security-informed decisions that balance risk and productivity.

The pay range for this role is $209,000 to $343,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
