Project Manager Job Description.
The Project Manager is an integral member of the project team responsible for delivering building development projects of varying size and complexity. The Project Manager is responsible for directing, organizing and controlling project activities, under the direction of a department management.
Sr. Project Manager Roles and Responsibilities.
- Attend client meetings and assist with determination of project requirements
- Drafting and issuance of project proposals, RFP’s, tenders, budgets, cash flows and preliminary schedules.
- Prepare project organization and communication charts.
- Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines/trades
- Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures through various platforms including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM systems.
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and other project team members and departments.
- Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Issue Contracts, Letters of Intent, Purchase Orders, Vendor Agreements, etc.
- Review and sourcing of Contractor quotations to ensure that only quality, capabilities, and only fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval.
- Track & manage contemplated change notices and change orders
- Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all required project close out documents are obtained
- Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others
- Keep management and Project Management team members informed about project statuses and issues that may impact client relations
- Meets and exceeds work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, resolving operational problems
- Meets cost standards by monitoring expenses, implementing cost-saving actions.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Research, assess and take initiative to procure new potential vendors
- Assist in the management of the project details including schedules, budgets, trafficking of materials, installations, site surveys, risk analysis and production timelines
- Assist in the coordination of site surveys including scheduling, travel and accommodations, recordkeeping of project details during surveys, expenses and travel to site on occassion for client meetings, or to oversee survey's and installation procedures.
Project Coordinator Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in project/ event management in a related construction field, or event management field. Experience related to Signage, Displays/ Exhibits, Custom Fabrication, or major sporting events a plus.
- Previous experience in cooperating with Project Managers for the delivery of projects
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Solid organization skills including attention to details and multi-tasking skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and of project management tools
- BS.BA in a related field
- PMP certification is a plus
- Job will be based in Deerfield Beach, Florida with a mix of office and remote site work.
