Totran Transportation is looking for an experienced Transportation Coordinator / Dispatcher to join our Oklahoma City, OK team.
Heavy Haul Transportation Coordinators / Dispatchers are responsible for coordinating over dimensional freight moves.
Communication with drivers through computers, email and phone conversations, and will assign drivers to trucks and make sure that they leave and arrive on schedule. Transportation Coordinators / Dispatchers are available at all times to answer any questions from drivers, help them avoid traffic jams and keep them aware of inclement weather ahead etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Dispatch direct and load trailers as required
- Manage drivers and owner operators as required
- Order Permits and arrange pilots
- Organize projects and paperwork as required
- Record keeping
- Safety
- Manage heavy haul operators and ensure that permits are complete and obtained on time
- Be on 24-hour call 1 week each month as required
- Follow operations policies and procedures
- other duties as designated by Operations Manager or senior management
