As we scale nationally, engineering excellence, platform reliability, data security, and AI innovation are central to our growth. We are seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead our entire engineering organization and shape the technical foundation that will power our next stage of expansion.
The Role
The VP of Engineering is a senior executive leader responsible for technology delivery, engineering strategy, platform reliability, and organizational effectiveness across all product lines. This role combines strategic leadership with strong technical depth and operational rigor.
You will oversee Directors of Engineering, Platform/SRE teams, application engineering, QA, DevOps, and AI enablement functions while partnering closely with Product, Clinical Operations, Customer Success, Security, and Executive Leadership.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can build high-performing teams, scale SaaS platforms in regulated environments, and deliver predictable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering Leadership & Organizational Scale
- Lead and grow a high-performing engineering organization across multiple teams and geographies (U.S. and offshore).
- Hire, develop, and retain Directors, Managers, Tech Leads, and senior engineers.
- Establish clear organizational structure, ownership boundaries, and accountability models.
- Drive a culture of execution, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Implement performance management, career ladders, and succession planning.
2. Technical Strategy & Architecture
- Define and execute the long-term technology vision aligned with company strategy.
- Ensure platform scalability, resilience, security, and cost efficiency.
- Guide architecture decisions across cloud infrastructure, data systems, AI services, and application platforms.
- Balance innovation with operational stability in a regulated healthcare environment.
- Standardize engineering best practices across teams.
3. Product Delivery & Execution
- Own predictable, on-time delivery of product roadmaps in partnership with Product Management.
- Implement strong planning, estimation, prioritization, and execution frameworks.
- Remove blockers, resolve cross-team dependencies, and manage trade-offs.
- Establish metrics for velocity, quality, and delivery performance.
- Ensure features meet reliability, performance, and usability standards before release.
4. Platform Reliability, Security & Compliance
- Oversee SRE, DevOps, and Platform Engineering functions.
- Ensure high availability, uptime, and incident response readiness.
- Implement mature monitoring, alerting, and post-incident review practices.
- Maintain HIPAA-aligned security, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Drive disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational readiness.
5. AI & Technology Innovation
- Guide the integration of AI and automation across products and internal systems.
- Ensure AI initiatives are scalable, reliable, cost-controlled, and compliant.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and drive adoption where strategically valuable.
- Foster experimentation while maintaining production discipline.
6. Process Excellence & Operational Maturity
- Implement scalable engineering processes, tools, and governance.
- Establish release management, quality assurance, and change control frameworks.
- Improve developer productivity through automation and tooling.
- Drive continuous improvement across SDLC, CI/CD, and platform operations.
7. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Product, Design, Clinical, Operations, and Customer Success teams.
- Translate business priorities into executable engineering plans.
- Provide technical insight to executive leadership for strategic decisions.
- Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly and proactively.
8. Financial & Resource Management
- Manage engineering budgets, vendor relationships, and infrastructure costs.
- Optimize resource allocation across initiatives.
- Ensure efficient use of offshore and external partners.
- Align spending with business outcomes and growth plans.
9. Culture & Talent Development
- Build an inclusive, collaborative, high-ownership engineering culture.
- Promote learning, mentorship, and technical excellence.
- Encourage accountability, transparency, and customer focus.
- Develop future leaders within the organization.

Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles
- Proven experience leading large, multi-team engineering organizations
- Track record of scaling SaaS products in production environments
- Strong background in cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
- Experience with distributed systems, data platforms, and modern architectures
- Demonstrated success delivering complex products on schedule
- Excellent communication and executive-level stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare, RCM, or regulated industry experience (HIPAA familiarity strongly preferred)
- Experience with AI/ML or LLM-enabled products
- Background in platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps practices
- Experience managing globally distributed teams
- Prior experience in high-growth or PE-backed SaaS companies
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
