Description
Inspire, Lead, and Deliver excellence in the machining and finishing manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the Machining and Finishing manufacturing operations for implant products to include planning, monitoring/measuring and reporting of processes to ensure production, quality and delivery goals and objectives are met.
- Develop, communicate, implement, measure and meet Quarterly and Annual Production goals and objectives.
- Understand and ensure Quality system policies are applied in all Production operations.
- Develop and maintain accurate routings, production lot history records, SOP’s, and work instructions.
- Develop and maintain accurate production labor and equipment capacity standards for each product line, identify and implement process improvements related to quality and cost reduction opportunities.
- Recommend/justify capital equipment expenditures.
- Maintain and provide appropriate storage for tooling, fixturing, equipment and raw material inventories.
- Develop, implement and document all Production training.
- Plan shop floor daily and weekly activities utilizing equipment and resource capacity to meet production schedules.
- Develop and maintain clean and safe working conditions to prevent accidents.
- Understand and participate and/or lead production functional effort for all corrective and prevention action activities.
- Work effectively with Manufacturing Engineering and the Instrument plant to integrate the development and production of new and/or transferred products and processes into the Advita Machining and Finishing operations on schedule to improve quality, delivery and cost.
- Recommend and direct personnel activities of department such as recruiting, hiring, performance evaluation, and salary adjustments.
- Prepare and effectively manage the approved annual Machining expense, headcount and capital budget.
- Actively participate in team meetings or on multi-skilled teams as necessary.
- Develop and implement a formal written departmental communication plan.
- Assist and support other employees, teams and sales personnel as necessary
Skills Knowledge And Expertise
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required. Experience may offset education
Experience:
- 5 years of relevant industry experience in machine shop operations and supervision/management.
- Experience with CNC, machine and inspection tools and finishing operations for manufacturing medical device products.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Good technical problem solving skills, process improvement, machine set up and cycle time reduction experience.
- Ability to schedule and meet production deadlines.
