A semiconductor client of ours in the Bay Area is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead development and optimization of Hot Filament CVD diamond processes. This role will drive the transition from customer requirements to robust, production ready thin film diamond solutions, supporting both R&D and manufacturing scale up.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize HFCVD diamond deposition processes for wafers, devices, and coatings
- Translate customer application needs into scalable process recipes
- Design and execute experiments to improve film quality, adhesion, stress control, and yield
- Troubleshoot defects, contamination, and process deviations using data driven methods
- Implement process control strategies and support stable production
- Collaborate cross functionally with R&D, Quality, Production, and Sales teams
- Provide technical support to customers across semiconductor, thermal management, optics, and related markets
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related field
- 5+ years of thin film deposition experience with strong CVD knowledge such as HFCVD, PECVD, MWCVD, or ALD
- Deep understanding of thin film growth, reaction kinetics, and materials chemistry
- Experience with characterization tools such as SEM, Raman, XRD, AFM, and profilometry
- Proven troubleshooting skills and experience with DOE and statistical process control
- Strong communication skills and customer facing experience
