The Patroller is an essential member of the Woodward Park City Health and Safety team, reporting to the Woodward Park City Health and Safety Manager. The successful applicant will be responsible for guest service, administering first aid, handling incidents around the Woodward Park City facility, maintaining trails to mitigate hazards, promoting and creating a safe environment for guests and employees, participating in lift evacuation, and performing opening and closing procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-
Provide professional, timely first aid and pre-hospital care for all resort activities, which can include skiing, snowboarding,
tubing, mountain biking, skateboarding, tubing, scootering, in-line skating, BMX, and parkour.

Safely transport patients from incident sites to designated care facilities.
-
Participate in chairlift evacuation and other technical rescue operations as needed.
-
Support patrol and emergency response duties throughout the mountain environment.

Assist in mountain setup, tear down, and daily maintenance tasks. Install and maintain signage, rope lines, fencing, padding, and other safety infrastructure.

Perform opening and closing procedures to ensure the mountain is ready for operations.

Monitor and promote on-mountain safety, including guest education, speed control, and enforcement of the Responsibility
Code.

Pick up litter and retrieve dropped items to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Deliver exceptional guest service in all interactions, even in high-stress or emergency situations.

Provide friendly, professional, and timely responses to guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback.

Collaborate with other departments to support a seamless guest experience.

Participate in regular Health & Safety training, as well as cross-training with other departments.

Assist with daily dispatch duties and radio communications.

Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude that fosters cooperation across departments.

Accurately complete incident reports in a timely, thorough, and objective manner.

Adapt to changing conditions and responsibilities while continuing to build professional skills.

Basic Requirements
-
Must be an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) and CPR certified before employment.

Must successfully complete a background check before employment.
-
Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Must be able to operate equipment, including ski, snowboard, and/or mountain bike.

Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills and follow and provide directions.

Must be able to negotiate terrain in and around Woodward Park City safely. All applicants must mountain bike.

Must safely assess and negotiate all-season terrain and action sports hub environments.

Must have the ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Must have excellent guest service skills.
Preferred Skills:
-
1-2 years of first responder experience.
-
Proficiency in caring for the sick and injured.

Experience in conflict resolution.
