As we scale to meet accelerating market demand, we are seeking a Vice President of Supply Chain to lead and modernize our end-to-end supply chain strategy across the enterprise.
Position Summary
The Vice President of Supply Chain is a key executive leader responsible for enterprise-wide sourcing, procurement, planning, logistics, inventory strategy, supplier development, and supply risk management.
This leader will architect a scalable, resilient, and performance-driven supply chain capable of supporting aggressive growth, long lead-time components, and complex engineered-to-order manufacturing environments.
The role reports directly to executive leadership and partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and Plant Leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a multi-year supply chain strategy aligned with VTC’s 3X growth objectives.
- Build a resilient global sourcing model for core materials (electrical steel, copper, insulation systems, bushings, components).
- Lead capacity planning to support high-mix, low-volume transformer manufacturing.
- Establish executive-level supplier partnerships and long-term agreements.
Procurement & Sourcing
- Drive cost optimization while protecting quality and lead times.
- Implement structured category management and strategic sourcing processes.
- Negotiate complex, high-value contracts with domestic and international suppliers.
- Diversify supplier base to reduce geopolitical and single-source risk.
Planning & Inventory Optimization
- Modernize S&OP and demand planning processes.
- Improve forecast accuracy and material availability.
- Optimize working capital through disciplined inventory management.
- Reduce shortages, expedite costs, and schedule disruptions.
Logistics & Operations Integration
- Oversee inbound/outbound logistics and freight strategy.
- Strengthen coordination between supply chain and plant operations.
- Drive OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) improvements.
- Support capacity expansion initiatives and new plant ramp-ups.
Risk & Resilience
- Lead supplier risk assessment and mitigation planning.
- Develop contingency plans for critical components.
- Monitor global commodity trends and pricing volatility.
Leadership & Culture
- Build and develop a high-performing, accountable supply chain organization.
- Establish KPIs tied to cost, reliability, safety, and performance.
- Reinforce a culture of urgency, ownership, and execution.
Qualifications
- 15–20+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience.
- Experience in heavy manufacturing, power systems, electrical equipment, industrial machinery, or engineered-to-order environments strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex global supplier networks.
- Proven success leading supply chain transformation at scale.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence cross-functional leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
