Position Overview
We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Truck Dispatcher / Logistics Coordinator to manage driver assignments, coordinate loads, and ensure efficient fleet operations. This role is critical to maintaining productivity, driver satisfaction, and profitability across our managed fleet.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and has a strong understanding of trucking logistics and load planning.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate and dispatch drivers for daily routes and loads
• Source and book freight through load boards and broker relationships
• Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, routes, and delivery updates
• Monitor driver performance, HOS compliance, and on-time delivery
• Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or operational issues
• Negotiate rates with brokers and maximize revenue per mile
• Maintain accurate load documentation and operational records
• Collaborate with internal operations and fleet management teams
Qualifications
• Previous truck dispatching or logistics experience required
• Strong knowledge of load boards (DAT, Truckstop, etc.) preferred
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Basic understanding of DOT regulations and HOS compliance
• Proficiency with dispatch software and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
