Who we are:
Adaptyx Biosciences is a deep-tech biosensing company developing a platform for continuous, multi-analyte molecular monitoring. Our focus is to extend biochemical measurements beyond snapshots-in-time (i.e., periodic blood testing) by building the world’s first truly generalizable continuous biosensing platform.
We are developing a wearable patch that makes molecular trends visible between clinic visits, capturing continuous data that can reveal changes early, guide decisions with greater confidence, and reduce avoidable deterioration. We believe the rapid and accurate quantification of biomarkers will unlock new insights and provide immense value across health and wellness.
Our technology is backed by over 17 years of pioneering academic research, and our team includes leading academic researchers in continuous sensing technology, serial entrepreneurs, and experienced operators and investors. We are looking for passionate, hardworking, and talented individuals to join our team and help revolutionize healthcare.
About this role:
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Research Associate (RA) to contribute to the growth and clinical validation of our cutting-edge technology. The candidate will play an active role in the development, optimization, and clinical testing of our biosensors. The position will work closely with senior researchers to drive projects forward by conducting experiments at the bench, running high-throughput assays, processing clinical samples, and producing high quality data and reports. The position will require leveraging a wide range of skills and knowledge in molecular biology, chemistry, and other scientific disciplines. As an early team member, the applicant will be instrumental in shaping the technology, strategy, and culture of our company.
Individuals applying for this position must be driven, passionate, detail-oriented self-starters who will thrive in an exciting and fast-paced startup environment. Successful candidates will excel at working in interdisciplinary teams and managing multiple projects and priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Support biosensor development and clinical testing by planning, executing, and analyzing laboratory assays and biospecimen processing processes under the guidance of senior researchers.
- Write and maintain detailed laboratory records and work with senior researchers to develop and refine new experimental SOPs.
- Contribute to lab organization, inventory, reagent preparation, and instrument maintenance.
- Support clinical research operations, including sample tracking, data organization, and protocol adherence.
- Participate in and present key findings at group meetings
- Collaborate with a highly interdisciplinary team to develop and execute challenging new projects.
Required qualifications:
- BS or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Very proficient in basic wet lab techniques (pipetting, buffer preparation, chemical safety, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with common laboratory assays and molecular biology techniques (e.g. ELISA, gel electrophoresis, PCR, bioconjugation and biomolecule purification, HPLC, DNA/RNA sample handling).
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and documentation skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize projects in order to meet deadlines.
- Strong desire to work on interdisciplinary projects within a fast-paced and quickly evolving biotech startup environment.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience analyzing and visualizing scientific data, especially using python.
- Experience with receptor-ligand binding characterization, diagnostics assays, aptamer discovery, and/or biosensor development.
- Experience working in BSL-2 environments, including safe handling of human-derived specimens, adherence to CDC/NIH biosafety guidelines, and proper use of Class II biosafety cabinets and decontamination procedures.
- Experience working within a research focused team, either in academia or industry.
