We have acquired Dayton, OH area based Microtek Laboratories, thereby combining two of the industry’s most established innovators in microencapsulation and PCM chemistry. We are expanding and need a talented Warehouse and Shipping Supervisor as we grow our Dayton, OH area manufacturing team.

OUR TARGET
We are seeking an experienced “hands-on” supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing and performing all warehouse, logistics, and shipping operations to ensure raw materials, supplies, equipment, and finished goods move in and out of the facility in a safe, timely, compliant, and cost-effective manner. Position may evolve into people leadership as the business expands.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse & Logistics Operations
· Manage and perform daily warehouse and shipping operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
· Determine appropriate shipping methods based on routes, rates, transit times, and shipment requirements.
· Coordinate with carriers (LTL, parcel, international freight) to arrange pickups and deliveries.
· Prepare products and documentation for domestic and international shipments in accordance with shipping instructions, DOT, and regulatory requirements.
· Perform (as needed) loading, unloading, staging, picking, packing, labeling, and wrapping of materials and finished goods.
Receiving & Inventory Control
· Receive incoming raw materials, supplies, and finished goods; inspect shipments for accuracy and damage.
· Record receipts accurately in ERP systems (SAGE) and ensure proper documentation distribution.
· Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, or shortages with carriers and suppliers.
· Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, audits, and physical stock takes.
· Manage inventory of shipping materials, packaging supplies, and warehouse consumables.
Compliance, Safety & Housekeeping
· Ensure warehouse and shipping activities comply with company policies, work instructions, and regulatory requirements (ISO, Customs, LTL, Etc.).
· Enforce workplace health and safety requirements, including proper PPE use and safe equipment operation.
· Maintain security of the warehouse, inventory, and shipping areas.
· Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of warehouse and surrounding areas in accordance with 5S principles.
Leadership & Team Coordination
· Lead and perform warehouse and shipping daily activities and priorities.
· Promote high standards of internal and external customer service.
· Support employee training, development, and cross-training to enhance team performance and flexibility.
· Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or GED required; additional logistics or operations training preferred.
· Prior experience supervising warehouses, shipping, or logistics operations in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong leadership, organization, and time-management skills.
· Ability to manage high-volume activity in a fast-paced environment.
· Operate a fork-lift
· Effective written and verbal communication skills with customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal teams.
· Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
· Ability to work independently, follow procedures, and remain flexible across varying operational needs.
· Experience working in regulated environments (ISO, DOT, Customs) strongly preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Work performed primarily in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
· Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating material-handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
· Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
· PPE may be required depending on task and area.
· Some mandatory overtime may be required to support production and shipping schedules.
