Position Summary
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the company's professional image while driving operational efficiency across teams. This role focuses on leadership, training, performance management, and operational oversight within a fast-paced, time-critical logistics environment. You will act as the key link between frontline operations staff and senior management, ensuring service excellence and regulatory compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Uphold the company's reputation and professional image in all customer interactions.
Train, supervise, and motivate operational teams to maximise performance.
Assign roles and responsibilities based on individual strengths and operational needs.
Resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively.
Act as the communication bridge between operations staff and management.
Support the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Ensure team understanding and adherence to all SOPs.
Identify and select carriers, service providers, and subcontractors based on service needs, costs, and transit times.
Build and maintain a strong, reliable vendor network.
Manage shift planning and workforce scheduling.
Ensure compliance with carrier requirements, customs regulations, and international trade laws.
Oversee adherence to local and international shipping regulations (IATA, DOT, IMO).
Investigate and resolve shipment delays, damages, and discrepancies.
Support additional operational projects and management initiatives as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years' freight forwarding experience in international and domestic logistics.
Proven background in time-critical freight forwarding and aviation AOG shipments.
Working knowledge of U.S. regulatory systems, including ACE import/export filings.
Familiarity with TSA regulations and Known Shipper Management System (KSMS).
Demonstrated experience managing expedited and Next-Flight-Out shipments.
Exceptional customer service and stakeholder communication skills.
Strong understanding of U.S. import/export customs procedures.
Fluent English (spoken and written).
Proven leadership experience in fast-paced operations teams.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in TMS platforms, tracking systems, and Microsoft Office.
Preferred
IATA Dangerous Goods Awareness certification (or willingness to obtain).
Experience quoting freight services and managing rate structures/margins.
Knowledge of customs clearance documentation and broker coordination.
Familiarity with Incoterms and international trade compliance.
Background in a 24/7 time-critical freight forwarding environment, including after-hours operations.
