MAC Inc. Area Agency on Aging is seeking a MHIC licensed contractor to provide modifications and home repairs for senior participants enrolled in the CAPABLE program. The contractor will work closely with the OT and RN to develop a plan that will allow the participant to remain in their own home.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reviews and performs home assessments, focusing on safety and home repair needs. Adds/modifies items as needed, within budget constraints.
- Improves the condition of homes through direct repairs/improvements. Able to perform/install: safety renovations, railings, door handles and locks, minor electrical and plumbing, minor structural, etc. Able to finish jobs in timely manner without extra return visits. Works around client time constraints.
- Safeguards program financial resources through creative and economical procurement of tools and supplies. Maintains trucks/vehicles and keeps appropriate tools and supplies as needed in vehicles. Maintains tools and inventory. Works with Project Coordinator for best use of time and materials.
· Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems.
- Collaborates with program staff, volunteers, trainees and allies to meet client and program goals.
- Maintains accurate records of: work, time, inventory, purchases, contractors, etc.
- Maintains and ensures client privacy.
Qualifications:
· High School diploma or Equivalent
· MHIC needed
· Trade school or construction degree preferred
· 3 years of construction experience
· Experience working with older adults preferred
· Leadership or management experience
Pre-Employment requirements:
· Driver’s License (A driving record will be requested as well)
· A Drug test and a Criminal Background check will be required
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
