The team you will be a part of
The Supply and Logistics team is responsible for keeping the appropriate levels of materials and/or stock supplies with the aim to maximize inventory control and company sales. Organizes deliveries to meet given deadlines and customer expectations. Supervises and tracks the flow of materials and products from suppliers throughout the organization.
This Role In Summary
Manage a team responsible for warehousing and distribution, global logistics, transportation, trade and environmental compliance, and international order fulfillment. Lead all aspects of shipping and receiving to and from each plant or distribution center globally.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Ensure compliance with all plant and warehouse safety procedures and guidelines. Coordinate/execute plant and warehouse safety and job training requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in our warehousing, distribution, transportation and trade compliance department. Research best practices and identify those that will differentiate InSinkErator/Whirlpool within the marketplace it serves and drive uncompromised customer satisfaction.
- Ownership of the handling, storage, and distribution to the end consumer. The facility's master distribution center is a high volume environment shipping tens of thousands of units per day to all corners of the world.
- Design and implement global distribution strategies to support our international markets.
- Inventory management for all Domestic, International and D2C customers
- Understand all import/export requirements as needed, global trade tariffs and duties; understand U.S. customs requirements, including USMCA, and manage relationships with custom house brokers.
- Provide clear leadership, strategic direction and oversight to the Trade and Environment compliance team. (Reach, RoHS, Prop 65, Buy American Act, etc.). Ensure C-TPAT Certification standards are maintained.
- Develop and implement a logistics and transportation strategy which meets the current and five year objectives while also meeting customer needs: focusing on speed, cost, reliability, and visibility. Develop and manage key performance indicators to ensure these goals are met.
- Develop relationships with key providers, negotiate rates and contracts as needed, and help develop service metrics with all carriers and outsource partners. Communicate on a regular basis the cost, service, and quality information to the organization. Identify variances and coordinate distribution management reviews to drive continuous improvement.
- Set strategy for, select, and manage any and all 3PL partnerships around the world. Ensure compliance with all D.O.T. Hazardous Material regulations.
- Coach and develop leaders, managers, and team members to meet InSinkErator/Whirlpool’s strategic goals and objectives, including identifying training and development needs.
- Develop strong partnerships with plant management, material and finished goods planning, transportation, quality and inventory control.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- A minimum of 10 years Supply Chain (preferably focused in Logistics and Distribution) experience is required. C.P.M. or APICS Certification and management experience is a plus. MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of Supervisory experience required
Preferred Skills And Experiences
- Strong analytical skill required. Understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes is a must.
- Adherence to the Supply Chain and Whirlpool code of ethics, to perform in the best interests of the company and its shareholders.
- Strong leadership skills needed.
- Ability to interact and communicate with people across various functions and lead without direct control.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills required.
- In addition, the individual must have a good record of working in multi-functional teams and have demonstrated skills in leadership, initiative, creativity, analysis, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
- A good technical background in Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning and Warehouse Management systems to be successful in this role
- Six Sigma and/or Lean, Oracle, Microsoft Office/Google experience
