Job Overview
We are looking for Administrative Modernization Program (AMP) Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring complex, enterprise-wide AMP projects. The AMP PM leads the development of information technology projects that require high levels of integration across multiple disciplines. Managing several projects simultaneously, the PM designs and tracks success for strategic projects that align with AMP standards and support various business strategies across the University.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Four years’ experience leading project(s) (IT or otherwise).
- Two or more years leading IT-related projects.
- Experience working independently and in team-oriented, collaborative environments.
- Highly adaptive: can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through agile, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating. • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including management, clients, and other departments.
- Ability to bring projects to successful completion with political sensitivity and tenacity.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Define and monitor AMP project objectives, scope, and progress against plans by developing complex project structures, preparing detailed project plans and documentation, implementing project management methodologies, building project management infrastructure, and documenting project requirements. Works with Business Analysts to identify and analyze requirements needed for projects. Research AMP requirements pertaining to specific projects or phases of a project.
- Develop and manage the work breakdown structure of assigned AMP projects. • Develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, scheduling identification of risk, contingency plans and allotment of resources for each phase of the project.
- Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks. • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle. • Follow AMP architectural standards or requirements for change management.
- Plan, develop, coordinate, administer, and execute AMP projects, including proposals, plans, timetables, communication, and resource allocation.
- In full collaboration with AMP, estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary. Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the university. Determine and assess the need for additional staff or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary, during the project cycle.
- In accordance with AMP standard operational procedures, prepare project status reports and keep management, stakeholders, and others informed of project status and related issues. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Tailor appropriate strategies and communication plans. Utilize resources as needed in order to ensure appropriate resolution. '• Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Complete AMP project lessons learned reviews, document process strengths and limitations, and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Resolve issues involving technical and resource constraints, including adjusting production schedules and identifying alternative technical solutions. Manage and negotiate project change-orders and modifications.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
- Manage the assessment and documentation of functional and technical requirements, including facilitation with third-party vendors during procurement stages
