Job Summary:
The Inbound Transportation Coordinator at BEDGEAR supports the daily operations of inbound freight logistics, ensuring seamless scheduling, tracking, and customs clearance of shipments into manufacturing and warehouse facilities. This role manages data reporting, supports purchase order consolidation, assists with customs releases, and mentors junior team members. Acting as a key liaison between vendors, transportation providers, and internal teams, the Inbound Transportation Coordinator ensures the timely and efficient flow of inbound materials critical to BEDGEAR's supply chain.
Essential Functions (included but not limited to):
- Track and trace inbound shipments, supporting visibility and problem resolution in partnership with the Logistics Manager.
- Consolidate and plan purchase orders for inbound shipments in collaboration with manufacturing and warehouse teams.
- Manage inbound Advanced Shipment Notices (ASN) and Automated Broker Interface (ABI) customs release processes.
- Schedule inbound dock appointments with manufacturing and receiving teams, ensuring alignment with warehouse capacity and production timelines.
- Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly analytical reports on inbound performance metrics.
- Work cross-functionally with transportation brokers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure timely deliveries.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing transportation workflows and recommending process enhancements.
- Maintain accurate records of inbound shipments, customs clearances, and carrier communications for compliance and audit purposes.
- Coordinate closely with the Warehouse and Production teams to proactively resolve discrepancies in shipments, delays, or receiving documentation.

Skills:
- Strong track-and-trace, PO planning, and shipment scheduling skills.
- Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite; ERP/transportation management system (TMS) experience preferred.
- In-depth understanding of ocean drayage, domestic/international logistics, and customs clearance processes.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage data reporting, performance analysis, and document tracking accurately.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong mentoring and team leadership capabilities to support the development of junior coordinators.
- Ability to work independently while supporting broader transportation initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- HS Diploma or GED
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
- English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
- Successful completion of a criminal background check is required
Preferred Education/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
- Prior experience in ocean drayage, domestic trucking coordination, and customs release processes.
- Transportation brokerage experience is a plus.
