- Annual Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 USD + Annual Performance Bonus
Job Summary:
The Head of Last Mile will be responsible for strategically leading and optimizing all aspects of JD Logistics US's last-mile delivery operations. This role focuses on enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring exceptional customer delivery experiences across the United States.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive last-mile strategies that align with JD Logistics US's overall business objectives, including network design, technology adoption, and operational best practices.
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end last-mile delivery process, from sortation and dispatch to final customer delivery, ensuring high service levels and operational excellence.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of last-mile professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer centricity.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative technologies and solutions to optimize routing, tracking, fleet management, and delivery efficiency.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for last-mile operations, including on-time delivery, cost per delivery, customer satisfaction, and driver productivity, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Manage budgets and financial performance for the last-mile division, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, sales, IT, and customer service teams, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of last-mile activities.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with external partners, including carriers, technology providers, and logistics service providers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to continually adapt and improve last-mile services.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with at least 5 years specifically focused on last-mile delivery operations at a senior leadership level.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale last-mile networks, including fleet management, route optimization, and delivery technology implementation.
- Deep understanding of the e-commerce logistics landscape and customer expectations for last-mile delivery.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in logistics software, route optimization tools, and general business applications.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Willingness to travel as required.
