BHX manufactures Modular Homes. We build small footprint live/work modular/portable dwellings.
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Finish Carpenter to join our team of modular home builders. The ideal candidate is a true craftsperson who takes pride in their work, has a keen eye for detail, and is an expert in all aspects of architectural millwork and trim.
You will be responsible for the final, visible touches that make a house a home, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and precision.
Core Responsibilities
- Trim Installation: Precisely measure, cut, and install all interior and exterior trim, including baseboards, crown molding, wainscoting, casing (window and door), and chair rails.
- Door & Hardware: Install and fit pre-hung and slab interior doors, exterior doors, and pocket doors. Install all associated hardware, including locksets, hinges, and cabinet pulls.
- Cabinetry: Install kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, built-in shelving, and custom mantels. Must ensure all units are perfectly level, plumb, and secure.
- Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and shop drawings to understand project scope and specifications.
- Problem-Solving: Skillfully scribe and cope trim to fit uneven walls, floors, and ceilings. Troubleshoot and solve complex installation challenges on-site.
- Quality Control: Maintain an exceptional standard of quality, ensuring tight joints, clean cuts, and a flawless final product ready for paint or stain.
- Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all job site safety protocols (OSHA). Properly care for and maintain all tools and equipment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience as a dedicated finish carpenter. A portfolio or photos of past work is highly encouraged.
- Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency with a miter saw, table saw, router, joiner, and all relevant hand tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to various job sites.
